I am thinking about why there is so much inequity and disparity in this world. To begin with, some of my reader are worried about that my thoughts are too theoretic way, ignoring the fact and actual environment. But it’s OK 🙂 I can assure you that I did not discard my career and my custom of writing and drawing is one of my favorite pastime. Let’s get down to today’s topic.
Tokyo is full of metro and high-rise buildings as well as New York, though the density of population, metro, and domestic capital in Tokyo is distorted by economic system, concentrating everything into the metropolis, even though there are alerts that the earthquake is going to occur. Possibly, this is the highest risk that Japan has, compared to the diplomatic affairs. Moreover, it is famous for the crowded train in every weekday morning. I assume those who can go to the office by car cannot imagine the toughness and the stress.
In Vietnam, on the other hand, the urbanization accelerates rapidly and the great skyscraper will have been built in a few years, according to the news. People are amazed at its development. Also, the transportation is getting changed, the Vietnamese government announced the plan of opening metro that has vast network. At the same time, the developers and the construction companies are going to earn huge profit, because in the early stage of modernization, a number of people move to the metropolis area to seek more decent wages and accumulate asset. This tide is inevitable in capitalism, And it is apparent who will gain the benefits nowadays. The same cycle happens in different country and timing.
The motorization is another key factor for the country to be rich. As well as urbanization, it needs a lot of cost and earn a large amount income through the deal, because the car is recognized as a wealth symbol and is needed for more comfortable lifestyle. This is the scenery of a start of economical growth. In addition, the two will bring about tax income for government and that will be used for subsidizing domestic industries. Some tells people that what is important is innovation, but I assume what they say is just an excuse. We have not find the engine to develop one’s country after the urbanization and the industrialization. Is Basic Income the answer? I do not know how the future goes though.
However, Japanese have a painful experience regarding this matter, some residents could not help selling their real estate due to the harassment from developers that want to build the office tower through the late 20 century, though when the company had bought them, the inhabitants receive enough money to live in a new house at suburban area. As a result, the traditional culture of Tokyo have continue to be lost, and the shrine put in the basement of buildings. A portable shrine, so-called Mikoshi, which used for ritual events becomes only to display at the entrance hall. Tokyo had been changed to the commuting city for labors, not the area for these who lives there, declining the connection of community. The similar problem like this stem from economic system.
I would like to learn how to build my house, how to make my clothes, and how to cultivate vegetables. Soon, I will go back to my hometown and take a distance from the consumer society.
